Coaster Acronyms: TTD is the New LOL

Coaster Acronyms are used in the same way as any other acronyms are, to say the abbreviated name of something. For example, it is easier to write “idk” than to write “I don’t know” or like how “lol” is easier to say than “laugh out loud”. Here is a list of coaster acronyms by category:

1. The Six Flags parks are the most used acronyms because all of their names start with Six Flags.

• SF- Six Flags
• SFMM- Six Flags Magic Mountain
• SFGAdv- Six Flags Great Adventure
• SFGAm- Six Flags Great America
• SFA- Six Flags America
• SFOT- Six Flags over Texas
• SFOG- Six Flags over Georgia
• SFFT- Six Flags Fiesta Texas
• SFNE- Six Flags New England

2. Cedar Fair parks and coasters have their fair share of acronyms.

• CP- Cedar Point
• MF- Millennium Force
• TTD- Top Thrill Dragster
• MXL200- Magnum XL 200
• MS- Mean Streak
• DT- Disaster Transport
• KI- King’s Island
• SOB- Son of Beast
• KD- King’s Dominion
• I305- Intimidator 305
• V:TBC- Volcano: The Blast Coaster
• DP- Dorney Park
• SF- Steel Force

3. The Disney parks have some acronyms too.

• WDW- Walt Disney World
• MK- Magic Kingdom
• AK- Animal Kingdom
• DL- Disney Land

4. The Busch Gardens parks are doing it too.

• BGT- Busch Gardens Tampa
• BGW- Busch Gardens Williamsburg

5. Coaster companies are also used very frequently.

• B&M- Bolliger and Mabillard
• MS- Maurer Söhne
• GCI- Great Coasters International
• S&S Worldwide’s name actually is S&S so it doesn’t count.

6. Coaster websites haven’t been left out.

• RCDB- Roller Coaster DataBase
• SS- Screamscape
• TPR- Theme Park Review
• CC- Coaster Critic
• TPS- Theme Park Syndicate
• CB- Coasterblog ( OK not really)
