Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure

December 22, 2011

I know that this is old news but Disney’s California Adventure is opening a new area based on the Cars movies. The new area will have three rides. Luigi’s Flying Tires will be sort of like a mix between bumper cars and hovercrafts. Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree will be a spinning teacups ride. The big attraction for the area will be Radiator Springs Racers.

Radiator Springs Racers will use the same technology as Epcot’s Test Track and Tokyo DisneySea’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.

There will be two tracks that race for the big ending. The ride will start as a drive through the desert where you almost get run over by Mack the truck. As the vehicle swerves out of the way you see the sheriff. He appears to be giving you a ticket but instead tells you that your driving skills would be useful in the big race. Next you go with Mater to go tractor tipping. Frank, the bull/harvester sees you and chases you off of his farm. On the way back into Radiator Springs you will either go into Luigi’s Casa Della Tires for a tire change or into Ramone’s for a paint refresh. From there the cars will race around outside. The winner of the race is different every time! You can see a video of them testing this ride below.

The whole area will be themed to look like it is in the movie so all the landscaping will look like car parts.

What do you think? Do you like Radiator Springs? Please comment. Thanks for reading! šŸ™‚
