Wild Eagle Layout and Videos

November 12, 2011

Wild Eagle, Dollywood’s new Wing Rider coaster, has had its track completed already. They announced the ride a couple of months ago and have been building it ever since.

Now that they are done with that rapid construction they can get to work on the station and all of the electrical components of the ride. I agree with pretty much everyone out there in saying that I hope they only take out what trees they need to take out. They should leave all that they can so that you are close to them, kind of like the Beast or Big Bad Wolf (R.I.P.). In addition to finishing the track they have also released two ride animations.

First a POV of it:

Next an offride video:

Wild Eagle looks like it will be an awesome addition to Dollywood.

Thanks to Park Thoughts for the picture.

What do you think? Do you like the videos? Please comment. Thanks for reading! 🙂

It looks good. It looks different than the other wing riders. The other ones have basically alot of turns, zero g rolls, and maybe corkscrews. Wild Eagle seems like a regular looping coaster with a loop, zero g roll, immelman, and corkscrew plus an airtime hill. It is taller than the other wing riders and has a better environment. I still think that X Flight looks a bit more thrilling and interesting, but this looks like a better quality ride.

    • Yea, I definitely think X-Flight’s first drop will be awesome but I would like to see how a corkscrew feels when you are off to the sides of the track which, so far, Wild Eagle looks to be the only ride to have an actual corkscrew.
