Mindbender at Six Flags Over Georgia

August 9, 2011

Mindbender is a Schwarzkopf looping coaster at Six Flags over Georgia. It was said to be the first ride to flip guests upside down three times, although the second “loop” is just a highly banked turn.

The ride starts with a very slow lift to the top of the first hill. At the top we take a turn before diving down to the ground. The first loop is circular so it creates some powerful g-forces (the correct way to make loops is to have them look like upside down teardrops). After the first inversion we fly up another hill where we take a turn and dive into a ravine, this is where the alleged second inversion is, it is shown in the foreground of the picture above. We rise up again and then dive into the ravine a second time, up another hill where we turn around and fall into the ravine yet again. This is where the real second inversion is, it’s another circular loop. The train rides into a tunnel and around a turn before the final brakes.

Mindbender was a bit rough. The loops are kind of painful too. I am giving it a 5 out of 10

Have you been on Mindbender? What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading. 🙂

Really? Mindbender was rough? Usually Schwarzkopf loopers are nice and smooth, such as sooperdooperlooper at hershey. How was it rough? Was there headbanging or something? I haven’t been on mindbender, but I am going to six flags over georgia next year and will try it out. I like the setting in the woods.

    • The turns jerked me around a lot, it wasn’t Vekoma rough but it certainly wasn’t B&M smooth. The loops were smoother just very intense. I haven’t been on Sooperdooperlooper so I don’t know how smooth it was, although it doesn’t have as many turns as Mindbender does. Thanks for commenting 🙂

You were right. It was a bit rough, I was surprised. That second “loop” (the highly banked turn) shook me around and hurt a bit. The loops were ok for me, but not really smooth like B&M. Sooperdooperlooper is definitely smoother. I still liked mindbender though, it was a nice ride.
