Roller Coaster Tycoon (RCT)

July 28, 2011

Here it is folks, the most popular roller coaster game ever. It was so popular that there have been expansion packs and sequels to it, there is supposedly even a Roller Coaster Tycoon movie coming out.

Roller Coaster Tycoon

The concept of the game is to create a successful theme park without running out of money. As you go along you get more rides to build which means a bigger park. It is the best game for creating theme parks.

There are five categories of rides that you can build. The first is Transport Rides, these are attractions that take you somewhere in your park, a good example would be a train or monorails. Second is Gentile Rides, these are things like Carousels and Ferris Wheels. The third is Roller Coasters, There are around 10 different types of coasters that you can create. Next is Thrill rides, some examples are swinging ships and drop towers. Finally, there are Water Rides, these include boats and log flumes.

I have it and i love it. I have the 3rd one, where you can ride the rides. Some problems I have with it though are: unable to build vertical lift hills; only 3 angles of steepness(lift hill, standard drop, and vertical) when you are trying to build a ride like MF or I305 you cant get a steep enough drop or you get a completely vertical drop; and when riding the rides when they are open to the public, the peoples heads’ are in your way and you cant see well. Besides those it is great.
