Superman Krypton Coaster

March 13, 2011

Superman Krypton is a floorless coaster at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. The park is built in an old quarry and Superman takes full advantage of that.

The ride starts with a climb up a 168 foot lift hill, once at the top we are on top of the quarry so the ground is only about 30 below us, we navigate a turn and then dive down the tallest floorless coaster drop. The world’s largest vertical loop follows this (Superman himself stands on top of it). Then we shoot up to the top of the quarry again for a unique helix, this provides some airtime. There is a zero-g and a cobra roll following this, then up to the trim brakes that are right next to the quarry wall. There is a short dive into a pair of interlocked corkscrews and the brake run.

Superman Krypton was fun, I am giving it an 8 out of 10.

Have you been on Superman Krypton? What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading. 🙂
