Mean Streak

February 21, 2011

A monstrous wooden coaster sits at the back of Cedar Point, its name is Mean Streak. It is called that because it is pretty painful (Mean) and it goes fast (streak).

We start up the long lift hill, passing under some track and finally reaching the top. We dive down the 155 foot drop gaining speed faster and faster, although we don’t notice it because we are banging side to side all the time. The layout is basically a triangle that is traversed three times in different directions. The only significant drops are the first and second, all of the others are just letdowns. There are a lot of head-chopper moments where it seems like we will be decapitated at any time. Although the biggest problem with this ride is how it slams riders into the sides of the cars.

Mean Streak is very rough but it has a couple good drops and turns. Overall it is my least favorite coaster at Cedar Point so far. I am giving it a 3 out of 10.

Have you been on Mean Streak? What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading. 🙂
