The Incredible Hulk
The Hulk is a huge, green, monster of a coaster that resides at Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando. It opened with the park in 1999 as the main coaster (along with Dueling Dragons which is now named Dragon Challenge). Since then it has won many awards and is internationally recognized as one of the best coasters in the world.
The ride starts inside a tunnel heading up, Bruce Banner who is the Hulk’s secret identity tells us that this time his machine will work. He is interrupted when the computer says that their has been a malfunction. With those words we blast up and out of the tube as we suddenly find ourselves upside-down. We dive towards the lake where two more inversions are waiting for us in the form of a Cobra Roll, we twist upside-down again and again before plummeting back towards Earth. A massive Vertical Loop is the next trick that the Hulk throws at us, after this we dive into an underground tunnel filled with fog. We navigate a helix around the tunnel where we started our journey and flip into a corkscrew. After this the ride seems to lose momentum, it seems like there are inversions thrown in just so that they could get to seven, this is the reason that the Hulk is not a 10 out of 10.
The Hulk is a very fun coaster that has an extremely amazing first half, and an ok second half. I am giving it a 9 out of 10
Have you been on the Hulk? What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading. 🙂
