Batman: The Ride (Various Six Flags Parks)s

February 8, 2011

In 1992 a new coaster type was unveiled it was called the Inverted coaster. The first of these opened at Six Flags Great America unveiled the name Batman: The Ride. The world went crazy over this new type of ride and soon Batman clones started popping up at Six Flags parks around the world. As of this writing there are 12 currently open. All of the rides have the same layout so I will just summarize the experience of all into one review.

Inside the station we pull down out shoulder harnesses and the floor drops out from underneath us. The lifts hill of Batman are short at only 105 feet. Once at the top we drop down a twisting hill and into a vertical loop. The next inversion is a Zero-G-roll, this happens to be the best part of the ride and provides some nice airtime. Another loop follows this, there are a few turns that provide some intense Gs and two corkscrews in the mix. After this it is just a short trip onto the break run. Returning to the station, the floor rises back up and we are good to go.

The Batman: The Ride clones would probably be better if they were more of a novelty, but since they are so common I am giving them a 5 out of 10.

Have you been on a Batman: The Ride? What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading. šŸ™‚

I like the batmans. Ive only been on the one at SFGAdv, it was good. I like the first part of the ride: loop, twist, loop. Then the ride does get kind of boring, but the corkscrews are fun. I would give B:TR a 6/10.
