Superman: Ultimate Flight Opens at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
A couple of days ago Superman: Ultimate Flight opened to the public. I was confused when Sis Flags Discovery Kingdom announced this new coaster. When I went to the park a couple of years ago it was packed. I had to wait for over an hour to ride Medusa, a high-efficiency B&M floorless coaster. Why would Six Flags decide to put a shuttle coaster into a park that already has long lines?
Efficiency complaints aside, Superman: Ultimate Flight looks like a really cool ride. No its not a flying coaster like all those other Ultimate Flights. It is a Premier Rides shuttle coaster. Superman has no turns, just a lot of twists and drops. It is one of the most unique coasters to open this year.
Here’s a video from the media day:
The ride has received very positive reviews so far. Some riders are even making room in their top ten lists for it. Even with the capacity issues it sounds like the ride will be worth it.
What do you think? Please comment. Thanks for reading!
It looks fun and smooth for a launcher but I doubt it is top ten material. It is way too short. It still looks fun and unique due to the twist at the top taken at a slow speed and the non inverting loop.
